Kevin Bennett, well respected singer/songwriter with Sydney roots band The Flood, CMAA Gold Guitar winner in 2006 (with The Flood for Best Group) and 2011 (with Kasey Chambers for Vocal Collaboration) also Aria Nominee for 2006, writes relevant, contemporary Australian music containing elements of Blues, Rock and Country – telling stories of where he’s from and where he might be going.

KB’s songs “Paul Kelly’s Blues” and “2003” were nominated for APRA Song of the Year and Song of the Year at The Golden Guitar Awards respectively, while “Hello Blue Sky” recorded by The Flood reached the number one spot on the Country Music Chart.
In 2005 it was confirmed that Kevin had Aboriginal heritage and he was from the Kamilaroi tribe of Northern New South Wales and has joined the Baradine Land Council (his birthplace). Since then has been visiting various schools in NSW and remote communities all over Australia promoting the ‘Thumbs Up’ campaign, highlighting the benefits of a healthy diet with the Jimmy Little Foundation. In 2008 he was invited to appear at The Dreaming Festival with The Flood and in 2011 was asked to be an indigenous ambassador for Apra (Australian Performing Rights Association).
The Flood has recorded 5 universally acclaimed albums including ‘The Ballad Of KB’, which was recently named in the Top Twenty Australian Country Albums of all time. Kevin ( with The Flood ) has just released ‘Skin,’ a new collection of songs that continue the tradition started with ‘The Ballad Of KB.’
Rhythms magazine calls Kevin Bennett and The Flood “the best Australian roots band since The Dingoes.”
