The Buckleys are a chart topping teenage sibling trio from Australia. Having toured internationally and won 2 American Songwriting Awards, at 19, 18 and 16 years old, they have collaborated with numerous Grammy award winning hit songwriters and producers in Nashville, where they have been working on their upcoming projects. Consisting of Sarah Grace (Lead Vocals and Acoustic Guitar), Molly (Vocals, Mandolin) and Lachlan (Electric Guitar), their debut single ‘RUN’ charted #1 on the National Australian Radio AMRAP Chart (all genres) for two consecutive weeks as well as #1 on Australian Country Radio.
The group have toured both Australia and the USA, playing a long run of highly esteemed festivals and concerts such as Music City Roots (Nashville) broadcast on PBS American Public Television – Hosted by Jim Lauderdale , Sydney Carols in the Domain (Australia’s biggest Christmas Concert), Tamworth Country Music Festival (Toyota Park Stage and Capital theatre), Byron Bay Blues Festival , Bluebird Café and Douglas Corner (Iconic Nashville Music Venues), Academy of Country Music Australia , Opened for Brian Cadd and The Bootleg Family Band , Cooly Rocks On , Caboolture Country Music Festival , Mullumbimby Music Festival and many others.
Collaborating with some of the worlds most sort after songwriters including Bruce Channel (Who wrote Hey Baby!/I wanna know if you’ll be my girl), Marty Dodson (Six #1’s and hits for Joe Cocker, Carrie Underwood, Big and Rich, Blake Shelton and more. Wrote ‘Must be doin’ something right’ by Billy Currington and Everybody wants to go to heaven by Kenny Chesney), Emily Shackelton (BMI Song of the Year for Carly Pearce’s #1 Hit ‘Every Little Thing’), Jennifer Hanson (Let me Down Easy – Billy Currington; Country Strong), Kelleigh Bannen, Greg Becker (Songs for Meatloaf, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and others), Phil Barton, Derek George (Darius Rucker’s 2018 #1 hit ‘For the First Time’) Rafe Van hoy (Fleetwood Mac), Jim Photoglo, Ralph Murphy and many more. Based in Byron Bay, Australia, Sarah, Lachlan and Molly grew up in a musical family (their Dad the former drummer of Legendary Australian Rock ‘n’ Roll band The Radiators) and from a young age they were exposed to a diverse array of musical genres including Country, Motown, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Swing, Bluegrass, Blues, Funk etc. From Patsy Cline to The Rolling Stones, Kasey Chambers, Keith Urban, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles, The Eagles, Brian Setzer etc. music has always been intrinsically a part of their lives.
The group officially formed in 2011 when on a family holiday at the Tamworth Country Music festival. Jamming on Peel street, they were notified the following day that they had made the top 10 in the Tamworth Country Music Festival busking competition (not knowing they were in any competition!), with over 600 acts competing. They were invited to perform on the main stage to some thousands of people the next day. From there, the band have gone on to perform with many of the greats including Jim Lauderdale, James T from American Blues Band Canned Heat , Bill Chambers, The Kentucky Headhunters, Rafe Van Hoy, Smokin’ Joe Robinson, Carter and Carter a nd many others. Sarah, a graduate of the 2014 Academy of Country Music in Tamworth, was awarded top 5 in the 2014 American Songwriting Awards (in association with Gwen Stefani) for her song Running Away released by The Buckleys, and the following year both Sarah and Molly were once again nominated for a prestigious ASA Award for Best of the Best. Amalgamating Country Music with the subtly inherent, tonal influences that their diverse musical upbringing offer (e.g. Pop, Rock, Blues, Motown, Swing and Funk), they bring a unique sound and flavour into modern Country and Mainstream music.
